These attractive properties are set in a quiet, picturesque Dorset village, within five acres of grounds, which include a delightful garden, fishpond, ample parking and the owner’s farmhouse. From private balconies there are stunning, far reaching views over the gardens and beyond to the Frome Valley. The cottages are bright, fresh, welcoming and the perfect idyll for two. Downstairs, the open plan living rooms have wooden beams, comfortable seating, including a double sofa bed and a door leading directly to the gardens. The lovely bedrooms have vaulted, beamed ceilings and French doors leading onto the balcony, where you can sit and relish the peace, tranquillity and extensive country views. The cottages have access to a large shared utility/laundry room, a short stroll across the courtyard. The central location of the cottages within Dorset makes them an excellent base for exploring the delights of this county. Within an easy drive are the towns of Dorchester to the south and Sherborne to the north, both rich in history with castles, ancient buildings and museums, including a dinosaur museum at Dorchester and a fine choice of shops and restaurants. For the more energetic, tennis courts and a heated swimming pool are available at nearby Chantmarle Manor House.

Just a few miles drive will take you to Cerne Abbas with its famous 180-foot giant carved in the chalk hillside. The nearest beaches at Charmouth and Weymouth are in the heart of the World Heritage Coast and excellent for fossil hunting. Lodmoor Park at Weymouth is one of the largest displays of marine life in Britain and bird lovers will enjoy the Swannery at Abbotsbury.
