West Perry Hay is an attractive, spacious, semi-detached property; the garden backs onto fields on the edge of the village of North Chideock. Inside the large lounge has a comfortable seating area in front of the woodburner and a separate living space, where there is a multi-games table, which can be used for pool, table tennis or table hockey. There is also an additional sofa that converts into a double bed for extra guests. Furniture for the storage of bedding and clothes is supplied. There is a wet room on the ground floor with a wide door and grab rails, which may be a help for the elderly or disabled. The well-appointed kitchen has a farmhouse style centre table and there is also a dining room. Upstairs are three pretty bedrooms and another two bathrooms. The coast, just ten minutes drive away to the south of Chideock, is part of England’s first natural World Heritage Site. The Jurassic Coast, as it is known, is stunningly beautiful and represents 185 million years of history. The geology is fascinating and fossil hunting is a favourite pastime; The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre has displays, promotes safe and responsible collecting and organises regular guided walks.

Other local attractions include the Abbotsbury Swannery and Abbotsbury Gardens and Forde Abbey. Fishing trips are available and you may be lucky enough to spot the dolphins that regularly swim in the bay. Dorset’s beautiful, gently rolling countryside is a haven for walkers and bird watchers. Its ancient towns include Dorchester Lyme Regis and Sherborne where castles and museums welcome visitors. The 180-foot giant carved in to the hillside at Cerne Abbas and Corfe Castle are famous parts of the counties heritage.
