West Down House is an impressive, 16th century manor standing in five acres of lovely grounds with extensive lawns, trees and shrubs, creating hidden corners where you can relax, one of which includes a barbecue. There is a large, fenced, solar heated OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL, with a sun terrace, which is open May to September. There are three cottages within the grounds, each with its own garden. It is a peaceful location and yet within easy reach of some of the West Country's most spectacular coastal scenery with Sandymouth Bay just six miles away. To the north the enchanting fishing village of Clovelly has a cluster of whitewashed cottages and a narrow, winding street paved with pebbles from the beach. Across the border into Cornwall, the wide, sandy beaches are bounded by the white-topped Atlantic rollers making it a paradise for surfers.

	The Manor Suite is situated on the first floor of the Manor House and is completely self-contained with its own impressive staircase. The spacious rooms have been comfortably furnished in traditional style and there are lovely views over the gardens, where children can play safely. The master bedroom has a draped four-poster bed and in the lounge there is a living flame gas fire, which gives a cosy glow in the evenings. Check Availability at West Down House Note: Saturday Changeover. A Ł50 refundable Security Deposit is payable. West Down House has a filtered spring water supply which is tested on an annual basis.
