IIn the attractive twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, where the narrow streets entwine and the buildings are old and colour-washed, there is a true sense of community and olde-world charm reminiscent of days gone by. There are quaint tearooms, shops, an hotel and a choice of four pubs serving delicious local produce, so you need never cook! The sand and shingle beaches are sheltered by Rame Head and offer fine views of ships sailing in and out of Plymouth. For a wider choice of entertainment and attractions such as cinemas, theatre, The National Marine Aquarium and the historic Hoe and Barbican, a water taxi will ferry you from Kingsand to Plymouth in only half an hour. A delightful walk runs north along the bay at Cawsand, through oak woods before reaching the ferry at Cremyll and here you will discover the glorious Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, 800 acres of superb parkland and gardens - open all year. Westcroft is a wonderful family home with an abundance of character and charm and situated only 50 yards from the beach. Originally the “London Inn” hostelry the house has been thoughtfully restored with a blend of traditional and modern features and is the ideal choice for two families or an extended family. The living room is furnished in leather and chrome – very stylish and the perfect room for adults to relax, read and converse.

The kitchen/breakfast room is designed to be the family room. There is an open fire for cooler evenings and a long, slim table ideal for children’s meals or playing board games. The formal dining room has splendid sea views and taking centre stage is the large round dining table, in the form of a compass, which can easily seat ten. All the bedrooms are attractively decorated and furnished in keeping with the character of the house. The Clock Tower Room, high up on the third floor in the eaves of the roof and reached via a narrow steep staircase, is a favourite with children and adults alike. The wonderful en-suite bathroom has a roll top bath, recliner chairs and a slate tiled floor with under floor lighting for a totally decadent bathing experience! Next door to Westcroft is a courtyard leading to the owners’ art gallery, which is open to the public and features work by local artists; you are very welcome to browse.

The owner is adjacent and they have a dog.
There is no private parking at Westcroft but you can unload outside. The car park is a 2-minute walk and a weekly pass can be purchased.
