Great Huish Farm
Tucked away on the outskirts of
the pretty village of Tedburn St Mary, Great Huish Farm is reached
via a country lane just off the A30. Approximately seven miles from
the historic city of Exeter, this 40-acre sheep farm is just a short
drive away from the north-eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park.
The original ploughman’s
quarters have been expertly converted from a 16th century long barn,
where the heavy horses were stabled, into two superb, adjoining
holiday homes.
The Yoke also
retains much of the character of the original barn, with ancient
beams and sloping ceilings together with oak floors throughout. The
bright and airy open plan living space is comfortably furnished to
include a two-seater sofa, which converts to a bed for occasional
use. A winding staircase leads to the pretty bedroom, which enjoys
sweeping views across open fields. Outside, guests have their own
patio overlooking the lawned garden, which is shared with its
neighbour, The Furrow.
From 14
July to 1 September 2012, The Yoke & The Furrow can only be booked
together
(Sleeping 6 + 2 cots)
