The Parlour is an attractive, detached, single storey barn
conversion located at Downhouse Farm, on the edge of Dartmoor. Once the old
milking parlour, the cottage now provides comfortable, family accommodation,
in a lovely rural setting, overlooking fields and moorland. The lounge/diner
is spacious and light with high raftered ceilings and patio doors leading to
the large, private garden and seating area. |

Tavistock is a charming market town on the
River Tavy with a wealth of shops and restaurants, a scenic
riverside walk and a trout fishery. Milehead Fisheries is a five
minute drive from the cottage and offers coarse and trout fishing
with rod hire. On Dartmoor there are numerous activities to enjoy
including hiking, climbing, canoeing and horse riding. Nearby
attractions include the National Trust owned Buckland Abbey,
Cotehele's historic house and gardens and Lydford Gorge with the
spectacular Devil’s Cauldron and White Lady waterfall.
Young and old will enjoy a visit to Morwellham Quay, Dobwalls
Adventure Park, Dingles Steam Village and The Eden Project, which
are within easy reach. The north and south coast beaches are about
equal distance with Wembury, Bovisand, Looe and Whitsand Bay to the
south and the lovely sandy beaches of Bude and Widemouth to the
north.
