The Old Barbican is a wonderful, detached house of immense character and charm situated in an elevated position on Barbican Hill, a quarter of a mile from the centre of Looe. Looe is South-East Cornwall’s principal seaside town, with a stunning harbour, featured in ITV's 'Echo Beach', numerous shops and restaurants and an abundant choice of beaches with glorious coastal walking close by. Divided into East and West Looe by a bridge across the river, East Looe includes the harbour, the main shopping centre and the sandiest beach.

Built in the 1700's, The Old Barbican has been completely renovated into a holiday home of the highest calibre. The Wow Factor of the house is the stunning kitchen, with granite worktops, oak units, a double Aga oven, a range cooker with a 6-burner gas hob, a breakfast bar, flat screen television and a useful hatch into the dining room. The spacious lounge has an original herringbone parquet floor, an open fire for winter breaks and views to West Looe. All the attractive bedrooms have televisions and views either over the garden or with a sea glimpse. The impressive family bathroom is ultra contemporary with tiled floors and double shower and vanity units.

The lovely cottage garden is bordered on one side by a long driveway with parking for two cars. (The three bungalows at the end of the drive have a right of way along the drive). The garden has a pond with a mesh cover and a patio with table and chairs. Within a short walk are the local Barbican shops including a Post Office and bakers. East Looe Beach provides a safe family beach and from the harbour, boat trips and fishing expeditions are popular. Nearby places of interest include the Woolley Monkey Sanctuary, Dobwalls Adventure Park, Mount Edgcumbe House and the Eden Project.
