The
Mill House
Mousehole, West Cornwall
Sleeps 5 + cot, Rent Band

Picturesque 'Mouzel', as it is pronounced, is one of Cornwall's most
enchanting villages. The narrow twisting streets and stone-built cottages
crowd right down to the village's snug little harbour, where the ebbing tide
reveals a sandy beach. The Mill House is a detached, 18th C, Grade II listed
granite and slate building of historical importance, in the heart of the
village, ideally situated only yards from the harbour, shops, restaurants
and pubs. Very rare for Mousehole - it has a garage! A nautical theme sails
through the lounge/diner with a beam, salvaged from a local shipwreck and a
large brass propeller, commanding centre stage. Comfortable leather seating
and an open fire ensure cosy winter evenings. Upstairs, the attractive main
bedroom has traditional low windows, exposed beams and sloping ceiling. |

The small front patio is a real suntrap,
and the rear-cobbled terrace is bursting with Mimosa, Camellias and
Roses. The garage and terrace are reached from the side of the
property. From Mousehole there is plenty to see and do without
driving, on foot or by bus. There is easy access to the coastal path
and Lamorna (6 mile round trip), one of Cornwall's loveliest coves,
with many more sandy beaches and cliff-top walks, just a short drive.
Locally there is sea fishing, sailing and riding. Worth visiting are
the outdoor, clifftop Minack Theatre, Penzance, Lands End, St Ives,
the Eden Project, and the National Trust properties and gardens of
Trengwainton and St Michael's Mount, the magical island, which is
accessed by foot at low tide or ferryboat. Note:
