Yarley is a small hamlet close to the beautiful cathedral city of Wells, surrounded by stunning countryside. The nearby Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Somerset Levels offer excellent opportunities for outdoor sports and leisure activities such as walking, climbing, abseiling and horse riding. The Cider Barn is an attractive, character cottage, attached to the owner's home, with superb views of the Mendip Hills. Three steps lead up to the front door, into the kitchen and through to the cosy lounge/diner, which has its own rustic charm enhanced by wooden floors, stone-faced walls and a traditional cast iron electric fire. The Cider Barn has a pretty bedroom, open to the stairs, with windows on three sides and wonderful views. Patio doors open from the lounge onto a small, south facing sitting area with bistro table and chairs. At the end of the garden, which is occasionally shared with the owner, is a public footpath leading up into the hills and the surrounding countryside. From Yarley there are many interesting places to visit. Wells is three miles away and has an excellent choice of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The scenery at Cheddar Gorge is breathtaking and you can watch the famous Cheddar cheese being made at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company. The spectacular Wookey Hole Caves are four miles away and a great choice for a rainy day. The sandy beaches and seaside attractions of Brean, Berrow and Weston-Super-Mare are a short drive away.
