Westward Ho! is home to an assortment of cafes, beach shops, ice-cream parlours and tearooms and has all the ingredients for a traditional, family holiday by the sea. Aptly named, The Beach House is a modern, mid terraced home from home just ten minute’s walk from the stunning sandy beach. Inside, you will find The Beach House has a contemporary feel throughout; the cosy lounge/diner is inviting, with cream and terracotta soft furnishings and from which French doors lead into the pretty garden. Westward Ho! is famous for its eye-catching beach huts and the pebble ridge, which lies between the beach and the Northam Burrows Country Park. Here you will find 250 acres of sand dunes and pastureland, a natural habitat for many varieties of birds, insects and wild flowers. Holidaymakers and locals alike enjoy bathing, surfing, canoeing and kite surfing - just a few of the sports practised here. The sandy beach (pictured below) extends for over two miles and has been awarded the coveted Blue Flag for the last three years; it is also patrolled by lifeguards during the main summer months. North Devon has many beautiful, sandy beaches on its dramatic coastline including Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe. North Devon has something for everyone; you will not have to venture very far to discover the coastal resorts of Instow and Appledore, both with their own unique charm! For exciting days out visit The Milkyway Adventure Theme Park or The Big Sheep with its huge ewetopia indoor adventure play area, not to mention sheep racing! The South Western Coastal Path runs through Westward Ho! and the Tarka Trail is close by - a must for cyclists and walkers.
