In a wonderful location between the Mendip Hills and the Somerset Levels, Stable Cottage is an excellent choice for couples wishing to explore this beautiful part of Somerset. Situated in the extensive grounds of the owner’s public house and restaurant, this single storey property is the end cottage of a row of four. The cottages have been specifically designed for two with a contemporary open plan living area and small but well designed kitchen with a two-plate electric hob and combination microwave with grill. With the friendly hospitality of The Burcott Inn, a traditional pub serving local ales and a fine A La Carte Restaurant on your doorstep there is really no need to cook! Stable Cottage shares a small lawn and picnic table with the three other cottages and you are welcome to enjoy the lovely pub gardens. Places to visit nearby include the beautiful cathedral city of Wells, only two miles away with excellent shops and restaurants and Bath, about half an hours drive, where you can visit the thermal springs or explore the city’s grand Georgian streets. Also worth visiting are Glastonbury Tor, Longleat House, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge and Stourhead House and gardens. Wookey is home to Burcott Mill, Somerset's oldest working watermill, with tearooms and picnic area. The sandy beaches and seaside entertainment of Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are nearby. |
