Otterton is a pretty, tranquil village situated between the stylish Regency town of Sidmouth and the genteel Victorian resort of Budleigh Salterton. The village has a working water mill, powered by the River Otter, with delicious food made from the milled flour, which is available to buy. There is also an exhibition gallery showing the work of local artists and, in the evenings, they stage popular jazz nights. Robin Cottage is a Grade II listed, thatched property with character and charm. The comfortable lounge has a multi-fuel woodburner and the kitchen/diner has a rustic stone floor, wooden dining table and wicker chairs. Upstairs, the attractive main bedroom is delicately decorated in lavender and has views over the garden towards the hills. In the enclosed lawned garden, bordered with flowers, there is a small patio area with table and chairs. The beach at Ladram Bay is only half a mile away, where the pale grey shingle contrasts with the deep, rich red cliffs and here you can join the South Devon Coast Path.

Nearest Coastline: The beaches at Ladram Bay, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Tourist Attractions: Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, Escot Park, Forde Abbey and Gardens, Crealy Great Adventure Park and the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth.
