In the lee of Berry Head, famous for its Napoleonic connections, lighthouse and magnificent limestone cliffs, Brixham remains a popular resort with a rich maritime history. In the harbour you will see a few of the historic sailing trawlers with their red sails from which the cottage gets its name. Red Sails was originally a fisherman’s cottage and dates back to the 1850s; situated in a quiet, winding road close to the harbour, it is in the perfect place for exploring Brixham. The cottage is charming and full of character with beams, stone walls and an original Victorian fireplace in one of the bedrooms. The living area is spacious, bright and tastefully furnished. In keeping with the nautical theme there are port and starboard lamps in the lounge from where you can step out onto the front patio for outside dining whilst enjoying the sea view.

Upstairs the two double bedrooms offer glimpses of the sea. Climb the steps to the top of the rear garden for a breathtaking view of the harbour, or sit and watch the daily rhythm of one of the UK’s busiest fishing ports, whilst enjoying a barbecue on the elevated patio. Unusually for Brixham, there is parking for two cars at the rear of the property, adjacent to the top of the garden.

Nearest Coastline: The charming fishing port of Brixham and the beaches of Torquay and Paignton.

Tourist Attractions: Paignton Zoo, Quaywest Water Park. Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway and cruises along the River Dart with a visit to Agatha Christie's former holiday home at Greenway. Fishing and boat trips are available from Torquay, Paignton and Brixham harbours.
