In the lee of Berry Head, famous for its Napoleonic connections, its lighthouse and magnificent limestone cliffs, Brixham remains a popular resort with a rich maritime history. In the harbour you will see a few of the historic fleet of sailing trawlers with their red sails from which the cottage gets its name. Red Sails was originally a fisherman’s cottage and dates back to the 1850s; situated in a quiet, winding road close to the harbour, it is in the perfect place for exploring Brixham. The cottage is charming and full of character with beams, stone walls and an original Victorian fireplace in one of the bedrooms. The living area is spacious, bright and tastefully furnished; in keeping with the nautical theme there are port and starboard lamps in the lounge from where you can step out onto the front patio for outside dining whilst enjoying the sea view. Upstairs the two double bedrooms offer glimpses of the sea. Climb the steps to the top of the rear garden and you will discover one of the delights of this lovely property, the magnificent view of the harbour; garden furniture and a barbecue are provided on the elevated patio so you can sit and watch the daily rhythm of sea life. Unusually for Brixham, there is parking for two cars at the rear of the property, adjacent to the top of the garden.

	Just around Berry Head the beaches of the South Hams beckon, beautiful Blackpool Sands and magnificent Slapton Sands are both worth a visit. For days out you will find there is something to suit all tastes including Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village and the Riviera’s oldest attraction, Kents Cavern.
