Penrose Byre is a lovely, semi-detached, one-bedroom cottage with a
convertible sofa in the lounge – ideal for a small family or two friends.
Built on one level it may also suit those less mobile. The lounge has sea
views and there is a small courtyard with garden benches, shared with
Polrose Stable. Penrose also has a private
seating area, with a picnic table and sea views, found opposite the
cottages, across a country lane. Inside, Penrose Byre is furnished and
decorated to a very high standard and is a wonderful choice for two! From
the cottages you can walk to Boscastle, but it is a steep return climb.
Famous for its ancient natural harbour complete with ‘blow hole’ Boscastle
has a number of good restaurants, Inns, shops, galleries and Witches Museum.
Sandy beaches include Trebarwith Strand, Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven,
Polzeath and Bossiney Haven. ‘Must see’ attractions include the Eden
Project, the Tate Gallery at St Ives and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and at
Tintagel visit King Arthur’s Castle and St Nectans Glen. From the nearby
coast path the dramatic landscape and views are stunning.
