In a wonderful rural landscape of rolling countryside, between the Haldon Hills and within the picturesque Teign Valley, lies the hamlet of Doddiscombsleigh. This small, friendly village is famous for the award winning, 16th century, Nobody Inn, which serves an amazing choice of wines, cheeses, ales, whiskies and scrumptious foods. On the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, Owl's Nest is a detached, romantic hideaway with lovely country views; if you are lucky you will catch a glimpse of the Barn Owls which nest in the eaves of the owner's home next door. The small, open plan living room, which cleverly combines the living space with the sleeping area (there is limited access on one side of the bed), has added character due to the sloping ceilings and a cosy, intimate ambience! There is a private garden area adjacent to the property, which has a pretty pond and seating area. The nearby Teign Valley Golf Course is open to non-members and there are some beautiful walks along the River Teign and through the local picturesque villages. Keen anglers, with the appropriate licence, can fish from the banks of the River Teign or at the three nearby reservoirs, Kennick, Tottiford and Trenchford. There are sandy beaches at Dawlish, Teignmouth and Shaldon, as well as a deer park at Powderham Castle. The cathedral city of Exeter offers museums, theatres, shops, restaurants and guided walks around the ancient walls. National Trust properties in the area include Killerton House, Knightshayes Court and A La Ronde.
