On the edge of Exmoor and ideally
positioned on the Two Moors Way is Orchard End, a quiet and cosy holiday
home. Forming part of Higher Wychwood Farm and attached to the owner’s
farmhouse, Orchard End has an open plan living area with French doors
opening onto a small covered, decked patio. An enclosed garden with arbour
lets you enjoy the views over the surrounding countryside and woodland. The
double bedroom, with en-suite wet room, overlooks the orchard from which the
property gets its name. Although no longer a working farm, there are free
range chickens whose eggs you can buy. There are horses in a neighbouring
field, which is bordered by a wonderful nature trail.
Exmoor National Park offers numerous
routes through varied landscapes. From this secluded bolthole you can relax
and enjoy your favourite book or, for the more energetic, venture onto the
moors for walking, riding and cycling (secure, dry storage is available for
bicycles). Pony trekking and livery is available at a nearby farm stable by
prior arrangement. After a long day exploring this beautiful part of Devon
why not sit on the bench under the large oak tree and enjoy a sundowner
whilst taking in views of the valley. Nearest Coastline: The
harbours at Lynton and Lynmouth and the beaches at Minehead and Braunton.

Pony Centre, Tarr Steps with pleasant walks along the banks of the River
Barle. Water sports at Wimbleball Lake. Devon Wildlife Trust’s
Rackenford and Knowstone Moors.
