Orchard Cottage has everything you would desire from a country cottage: rural location, wooden beams, rustic flagstone floors, woodburning stove and the owner's lambs playing in the field next-door. Great care and thought have been taken with this barn conversion in the use of natural materials and warm colours. The living area is spacious and bright, with views over the fields and patio doors leading to the garden. Large, colourful rugs add warmth to the stone floors. The pale yellow of the walls is complemented by the use of brown and terracotta colours in the furnishings and tiles in the kitchen. Upstairs, the pretty bedrooms have the original beams, wooden furniture and lovely views. There is a patio area with table and chairs and a lawned garden overlooking fields. Within a 20-minute drive are the East Devon coastal path and beaches at Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth. The nearby cathedral city of Exeter offers excellent museums, shopping, theatres and restaurants. National Trust properties in the area include Knightshayes Court, Killerton House and A La Ronde.
