Winsham is a thriving village on the river Axe, close to the border of three counties and with easy access to the attractions of south Somerset, the World Heritage coast and East Devon. Oak Barn is situated a mile outside the village centre, at Whatley Farm, and is attached to the owner's farmhouse. No longer a working farm, the barns on either side of the farmhouse, including Bamboo Cottage have been converted into attractive and comfortable holiday homes.

The cottage has a large grassed area to the front and plenty of parking space. Three steps lead down to the front door and through into the lovely kitchen, which has stone floors and the appliances include an electric range cooker. From the kitchen, a stable door opens onto the enclosed, rear garden and patio with lovely countryside views. The spacious lounge/diner has a large inglenook fireplace with an electric, flame effect fire and an original flint wall; wooden beams and country-style pine furniture feature throughout. From the master bedroom there is access to the rear garden via stone steps. All the bedrooms have lovely views and their own en-suite shower room or bathroom. Oak Barn is midway between Forde Abbey, a beautiful Cistercian monastery set in 30 acres of gardens, and Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park, with its wonderful Lemur wood, exotic birds and fun safari train. Within a short drive is the fossil rich World Heritage coastline and the popular resorts and beaches of Lyme Regis, West Bay, Charmouth and Beer. The vibrant town of Chard is four miles away and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Winsham has a shop, pub and church and the The Windwhistle Golf and Country Club is nearby.
