This cosy cottage, which is attached to the owner's home, is situated in picturesque Brixham, within a twenty-minute walk of the ancient town and harbourside. Monkbarns is located just yards from the South Devon Coast Path; start your walk at Battery Gardens, which has glorious sea views, then meander through pretty woods and onto Fishcombe Cove.

Brixham is the perfect location for a holiday; the town combines a popular resort, a modern marina and a quaint fishing harbour. There is a varied selection of restaurants and shops and watching the trawlers landing their catches is a fascinating experience. On the edge of Brixham is Shoalstone Beach, where the outdoor, seawater swimming pool, built into the rocky foreshore is always popular. Just around Berry Head, the beaches of the South Hams beckon, beautiful Blackpool Sands and magnificent Slapton Sands are both worth a visit. Whilst visiting South Devon a leisurely trip on the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is an absolute delight, as is a cruise along the picturesque River Dart, where you have the opportunity to stop and visit Agatha Christie's holiday home at Greenway.
