Melbury Vale is a 28 acre specialist farm with a Christmas tree plantation, vineyard, woodland and ancient bluebell wood, which are all available for guests to wander and enjoy. Children will love watching the owner's herd of alpacas, horses and sheep. Formerly a stable, this Grade II listed cottage lies close to the original farmhouse, historic mill buildings and mill pond on the River Stirkel. Melbury Vale Cottage is south facing and has two attractive bedrooms, a small living area, underfloor heating and a wet room fitted for disabled access. The location is peaceful and relaxing yet less than two miles from Shaftesbury. Steeped in history and tradition, the town has a fascinating 9th century Abbey, with a museum, gardens, speciality shops, art galleries, tearooms, restaurants and inns.

	Nearest Coastline: The beaches at Sandbanks, Bournemouth and the Dorset World Heritage Coast. Tourist Attractions: Longleat House and Safari Park. Stourhead, Stonehenge, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor. Shaftesbury's very own Gold Hill, the steep cobbled street immortalised in the Hovis commercial. This is a lovely area for walking and there is also carp fishing and golf close by.
