Accommodation on Exmoor cannot be found in more delightful surroundings than Porlock. Nestling at the foot of Porlock Hill, Porlock is bordered to the north by a shingle ridge, with breathtaking views over the Bristol Channel, and to the south by the rolling hills of the Exmoor National Park. Approached via a narrow lane, behind the 13th century church, Marley Cottage is in a secluded yet central location. Dating back to the late Victorian era, it is the end terrace of six cottages originally built as homes for local boat builders. Recently renovated, Marley Cottage has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished to create an inviting holiday home, with a pretty south facing patio. To the front, the cottages share a pedestrian right of way for access.

Porlock village is delightfully quaint, with historic olde worlde buildings and also a local butcher’s, Post Office as well as many pubs, tea houses and other shops. From the cottage there is a lovely scenic walk to Porlock Marsh.

Nearest Coastline: The beaches at Dunster, Minehead and Blue Anchor Bay. It is a short drive to Porlock Weir.

Tourist Attractions: Hawkcombe Woods Nature Reserve, Porlock Weir and Harbour, Dunster and its Norman castle. The National Trust’s Holnicote Estate. Porlock is at the western end of The Coleridge Way. The South West Coast Path runs close to the village along Porlock Bay. This area also offers sailing, horse riding, fishing, cycling, golf and bird watching.
