Lydia’s Cottage is a first and second floor property, situated in the heart of the town above the owner’s picture framing shop; ideally located, close to all the town’s amenities, you need not use the car at all! On the first floor there is an attractive bedroom with en-suite bathroom and modern kitchen/diner with useful utility room. A second flight of steps (slightly steeper) leads to the lounge, in the eaves. Situated on a no-through road there is a private parking space and a small, sunny patio with a bench. The ancient harbour town of Watchet has a long and eventful history with a proud maritime past stretching back many hundreds of years. With a revamped marina and esplanade combined with the old port, quaint houses, shops, two museums and a choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants. One of the highlights is the West Somerset Steam Railway, enjoying 20 miles of glorious scenery, stopping off at the sandy beaches of Blue Anchor Bay and Minehead or Dunster to visit the National Trust castle.

Watchet sits below the stunning landscape of the Quantocks, Brendon Hills and Exmoor National Park and looks out across the Severn. This unique location offers excellent walking, bird watching, horse riding, fishing and golf. For something more unusual visit the local beaches and try fossil hunting; Helwell Bay is a popular fossil haunt and is only half a mile by footpath from Watchet.
