Lower Well Farmhouse is located about a mile from the village of Ugborough at the end of a private drive. A detached cottage of character and charm with the added luxury of a large indoor heated swimming pool shared only with the occupants of nearby Lower Well Cottage. The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standard and has a large garden, laid mostly to lawn, with beautiful countryside views. From here an arch in the hedge leads to a field, ideal for children to play or that great family game of football. In the village, cottages, two pubs, a small shop and Post Office cluster around the square, which is decked with flowers in spring and summer giving an almost Mediterranean feel. The glorious sandy South Hams beaches at Thurlestone, Bantham and Bigbury, are just eight miles to the south. This is the perfect location for a family holiday. Apart from the beaches, there are numerous pastimes to enjoy, walk from Salcombe to Bolt Head along the South West Coast Path or visit Slapton Ley the largest freshwater lake in South West England, with its renowned collection of waterfowl and wildlife.

When visiting Bigbury you can walk across to Burgh Island to enjoy a drink at the famous Pilchard Inn, and see the hotel frequented by the rich and famous, if the tide comes in return on the unique sea-tractor. From the National Trust beauty spot of Shipley Bridge, about four miles away, you can walk beside the river up to Dartmoor. Golfers can enjoy a round on the moorland course at Wrangaton. Good Food is a byword in this area; from casual pub grub to fabulous gourmet restaurants you are sure to find something to suit your taste. With all they have to offer, Lower Well Cottage and the South Hams will give you a holiday to remember.
