Lower Well Cottage is
located about a mile from the village of Ugborough at the end of a private
drive. A detached cottage of character and charm with the added luxury of a
large indoor heated swimming pool, shared only with the occupants of nearby
Lower Well Farmhouse. The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest
standard. Adjacent is a pretty garden with beautiful countryside views, from
where an arch in the hedge leads to a field, ideal for children to play or
for that great family game of football. In the village, cottages, two pubs,
a small shop and Post Office cluster around the square, which is decked with
flowers in spring and summer giving it an almost Mediterranean feel. The
beautiful beaches of Thurlestone, Bantham and Bigbury, are just eight miles
to the south, here you can stretch out on the soft sand and enjoy the sun,
or the more active can surf or body board. This is the perfect location for
a family holiday. |

Apart from the beaches, there are numerous pastimes
to enjoy, walk from Salcombe to Bolt Head along the South West Coast Path or
visit Slapton Ley, the largest freshwater lake in South West England, with
its unique collection of waterfowl and wildlife. From the National Trust
beauty spot of Shipley Bridge, about four miles away, you can walk to the
Avon Dam on Dartmoor; a pretty path runs along beside the river as it
tumbles over boulders and under bridges. Golfers can enjoy a round on the
moorland course at Wrangaton. Good Food is a byword in this area; from
casual pub grub to fabulous gourmet restaurants you are sure to find
something to suit your taste. With all it has to offer, Lower Well Cottage
in the glorious South Hams will give you a holiday to remember.
