Listed in the Domesday Book, Penhallym Farm is no longer a working farm, but home to the owners’ horses and prize-winning sheep, which graze its 40 acres. The farm is situated just outside the village of Week St Mary, close to the unique ruins of Penhallam Manor, built in the 13th century. Within easy reach of the superb beaches of North Cornwall, this beautiful rural area, surrounded by woodland, is ideal for those wishing to explore both coast and countryside. Penhallym is an excellent base for walkers, with nearby scenic footpaths leading across open fields straight to the coast, with views to Lundy Island.

The farm’s original milking barn has been skilfully transformed into three superb cottages, set in a tranquil courtyard. Tastefully decorated throughout with designer soft furnishings, each cottage has an open plan living area, a woodburner for the cooler months and an enclosed patio overlooking the courtyard and fields beyond. A communal utility/boot room houses laundry and storage facilities, as well as a freezer, for guests’ use.

Laity (in Cornish, “milk house”) is set on two levels and offers cosy, open plan accommodation. The pretty pale blue Shaker style bathroom occupies the whole of the upper floor and is accessed by a staircase from the bedroom.

Nearest Coastline: The Pentire Point to Widemouth Heritage Coast including Bude, Crackington Haven and dog-friendly Widemouth Bay.

Tourist Attractions: The South West Coast Path, King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel. Boscastle and Port Isaac, the Tamar Otter Sanctuary. Coarse fishing locally.
