Kiln Close House is a spacious, detached, dormer bungalow in the rural village of Broadhempston, between the Dartmoor National Park and the English Riviera beaches of Torbay. The village has two interesting pubs, The Monks’ Retreat and the Coppa Dolla, renowned for their character and excellent home cooked food; there is also a children’s playground and a small shop. In the surrounding lanes and footpaths you will find excellent walks and riding. Fishing and golf are also available in the area. Nearby towns include Newton Abbot, with its racecourse and weekly farmers’ market, and the ancient riverside town of Totnes. Here you will find cosy cafes, relaxing riverside walks and, from the old Steamer Quay, you can take a trip down the River Dart to historic Dartmouth. Inside the house, the large lounge/diner has an open fireplace and patio doors leading to a paved patio area that overlooks the attractive, secluded, lawned garden and countryside beyond. The wonderful South Hams beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Thurlestone are all within an easy drive. For days out, try the River Dart Country Park or Woodlands Leisure Park with its wild water rides, which will thrill both young and old alike, or take a trip on the Dart Valley Steam Railway.
