There is parking for one car on the small forecourt
and a permit is provided to park on the harbour. Minehead is a popular
seaside resort with a sandy beach, wide promenade and a colourful
seafront with family attractions and amusements. Just along the prom is
Butlin’s and a day ticket can be purchased to enjoy the all-weather
attractions and swimming pools. The harbour is situated in a quieter
corner of Minehead, within half a mile of the town centre. There is a
popular pub opposite the cottage where you can enjoy a drink or lunch,
overlooking the harbour. Minehead is the start of the South West Coastal
Path, with spectacular scenery as it scales Exmoor's towering sea-cliffs
and skirts secluded coves and bays. For a relaxed, nostalgic day, board
the West Somerset Steam Railway and travel past old-time stations, along
the coast and through The Quantock Hills to Bishops Lydeard. Stop off at
Blue Anchor Bay for a swim or at the ancient seaport of Watchet to hunt
for fossils. The beauty and expanse of Exmoor National Park offers a
great range of outdoor activities including walking, cycling, horse
riding, golf and wildlife safaris.
