HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
With its
spectacular location on North Cornwall's dramatic coastline, Tintagel is a
most evocative place, full of magic and myth. Legend has it that King Arthur
was born on Tintagel Island where the remains of the 13th century castle sit
high above the sea. With so much to see and do the Tintagel Visitor’s Centre
should be your first port of call. King Arthur's Great Halls, the Old Post
Office, Rocky Valley and the beautiful St Nectan's Glen are amongst some of
the many attractions in this dramatic part of Cornwall. Guinevere was most
famous for her love affair with Arthur's most trusted knight Lancelot and
this aptly named cottage is a wonderful choice for a special or romantic
holiday. Originally the popular Stable Bar, this character stone barn has
been converted into a lovely, spacious home. Situated just off the High
Street, Guinevere is one of a small group of individual properties, accessed
by automated entry gates and only a short walk to the gift shops, pubs,
restaurants and visitor attractions. Outside there is a small seating area
with barbecue and wooden bench and from the parking area you can see the
coast. Inside, the cottage has a large kitchen/diner and spacious utility
room, a stunning lounge with vaulted ceiling and a curvy stone fire place
with a gas woodburner. An open tread wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine
bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The single bed is tucked away from view
behind a stud wall and privacy curtain. This coastline offers amazing
opportunities for sailing, boat trips and water sports, not forgetting the
charming fishing villages and breathtaking scenery just waiting to be
explored. Nearby Trebarwith Strand is a sandy beach well known for swimming
and surfing. |
