Situated less than five miles from Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast and only twelve miles from Weymouth Bay, Gatehouse Cottage is ideal for exploring numerous coastal resorts and tourist attractions in Dorset. The cottage is light, spacious and tastefully decorated to a very high standard, with comfortable furnishings and excellent facilities. There is an enclosed garden with patio area and a detached playroom, aptly-named Stepping Stones, with a shower room, a colour wall, a selection of books, toys, videos and a games console – great for children of all ages! Sunny days and lazy nights can be spent in the garden, the bright conservatory or the spacious lounge, with sumptuous sofas and an electric woodburner, creating a warm, cosy atmosphere for cooler days or nights. Both bedrooms overlook the garden and the main road and the bathroom is beautifully decorated with mosaic and Italian inspired tiles. A farm shop behind the cottage has fresh eggs, fruit and vegetables for sale and children can occasionally help the owner feed the farm animals, ducks, geese and rabbits.

	Dorchester offers a wide choice of shops and restaurants and is full of interesting architecture, with a variety of unique and interesting museums nearby. Dorchester County Museum features the history of local author Thomas Hardy, The Dorset County Museum is home to over a million archaeological finds and the Dinosaur Museum is Britain’s only museum devoted to dinosaurs and the fascinating world in which they lived. For family days out Corfe Castle, Weymouth Sealife Park, Abbotsbury Children’s Farm and the Swannery are well worth a visit. The dramatic coastline with cliff top walks and breathtaking scenery from Portland Harbour and Chesil Beach stretching to Lyme Regis can be explored on foot or by car and makes a fabulous day out.
