Galanda is situated in an idyllic location, nestling amongst the trees on the banks of the River Yealm, one of several modern waterside properties, which enjoy this beautiful inlet. Although all the accommodation is on one floor, the property is approached via steepish steps (these are also used by the owner who has a separate entrance to her part of the house). From the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, patio doors lead onto the lawned garden and extensive patio which overlooks the river. All the rooms are tastefully furnished; there is a modern kitchen and the master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.

Just across the lane from the house, a flight of narrow steps leads down to the river where you will find your own small slipway, river room and hideaway sitting area that is surrounded by a fragrant herb garden. If you have a boat you are welcome to moor it here, or small boats are available to hire locally by the day or for the week. Most of the local inns can be approached by water as well as road. If you can bear to leave this lovely spot there is lots to do and see in the area. The white sandy beach at Mothecombe is just two miles away, and spectacular scenery and sandy coves line the South Devon Coast Path. At nearby Plymouth there is the National Marine Aquarium with its deep reef and shark tank and the Plymouth Dome has attractions for all ages.
