The landscape of Dartmoor National Park is a
unique mix of dramatic tors, wooded valleys, stunning gorges with a
sprinkling of picturesque villages. The charming village of Holne
sits on the southeastern slopes of the moor where village life still
centres around the 13th century church and popular Church House Inn.
Forestoke Linhay is a detached, barn conversion
situated on a small, working farm on the edge of Holne. With open
moorland just outside the farm gates it’s the perfect location for
walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
The cottage is traditionally furnished and full
of character with exposed stonewalls, wooden beams and vaulted
ceilings. The living area is small and cosy, warmed by a woodburner.
There is a rustic conservatory, off the lounge, with doors opening
onto the enclosed, terraced, patio garden. From the twin bedroom
doors open onto a small top patio and the pretty double bedroom has
extensive views towards Torquay and Teignmouth, taking in Hembury
and Holne Woods. There are steps to the front and rear of the
cottage, which is adjacent to the owner’s farmhouse.
The stunning rural landscape can be enjoyed along
The Two Moors Way, a long distance route stretching between Dartmoor
and Exmoor. Buckfastleigh and the ancient stannary town of Ashburton
are both within four miles.
