Set on the edge of the village of Christow, high above the river at the head of the beautiful Teign Valley, The Engine House is a secluded, detached property that is furnished and equipped in a contemporary style. The open-plan living area is cosy and welcoming with French windows opening onto the level, lawned garden, from where you can hear the river tumbling over the rocks below. The bedrooms are bright and colourful and, from the hallway, a door opens out onto a walled patio area that is a delightful suntrap and still retains many of the property's original features. This is a house, which has a lot to offer anyone seeking peace, quiet and beautiful walks along the abundant footpaths, with easy access to the local village. In Christow you will find a real character pub, The Artichoke, a small shop, Post Office and butcher's. There is also a two-acre lake adjacent to this property and exclusive carp fishing is available, by arrangement with the owner. The South Devon Coast is just a short drive away, where the holiday resorts of Teignmouth, Dawlish, Dawlish Warren and Shaldon make for excellent days out. Golf can be played on the nearby Teign Valley Golf Course and for shopping or the theatre, the cathedral city of Exeter is within 10 miles.
