Ringmore is a picturesque village in the highly sought after
South Hams area of Devon. From the village, a footpath takes you to the
National Trust's Ayrmer Cove and the coastal footpath. There are beautiful
beaches at Bigbury on Sea, just three miles away. Here it is possible, at
low tide, to walk to Burgh Island, have a pint and a pasty at the Pilchard
Inn and, if you haven't noticed the tide coming in, a 'sea tractor' will
return you safely across the sand bar. End Bohemia, at the end of a row of
traditional, stone built cottages, has a pretty, lawned garden with flowers
and picnic furniture. Inside, this character cottage, with its low beamed
ceiling and open fire in the lounge, is traditionally furnished. An open
tread staircase leads to the bedrooms. The double bedroom is accessed
through the bunk bedded room making it suitable for a couple or a young
family only. The village has a pub where the welcome is warm and the food
excellent. Kingsbridge has a leisure centre, with an indoor swimming pool
and you can arrange boat trips along the estuary. |
