Broadhembury is one of East Devon’s prettiest
villages and lies within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. Many of the cob and thatch cottages date back to the
16th century and at the heart of the village lie the local shop, tea
room and popular pub. Duke’s Cottage is a very attractive detached
property with a wonderful large, enclosed garden. Picture windows
flood the lounge with natural light and the brightly coloured soft
furnishings complement the white paintwork and oak floors.
Interestingly designed, there are various levels and a staircase at
both ends of the house. From the kitchen/diner, stairs lead to the
main bedroom with its own shower room. There are two further
bedrooms situated off the lounge and a second staircase leads to the
single bedroom.
Glass doors open from the lounge onto the patio
and expansive garden which is a true delight, overlooked by the
beautiful 14th century church next door.
There are numerous walks to enjoy in and around
Broadhembury, with much more to explore within a very short drive,
including the South Coast seaside resorts and the rugged expanses of
Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Nearest Coastline: The beaches at
Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth.
Tourist Attractions: The National Trust
properties of Knightshayes Court, Killerton House and A La Ronde
House. The Donkey Sanctuary and Crealy Adventure Park. Walks along
the South West Coast Path, sailing and water sports. The stunning
gardens at Cadhay House and Escot Park.
Cullompton Farmers Market. |
