Stringston is situated on the northern slopes of the Quantock Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A small, rural hamlet bordered by farmland, just a five-minute drive from the West Somerset coast at Kilve, it is a wonderful location for a quiet break or family holiday. Dove Cottage is a pretty, 400-year-old terraced cottage; to the front is a very small stream crossed by a stone bridge and a paved garden area, while to the rear is a large parking area and pretty, enclosed lawn and patio. As soon as you enter the hall of Dove Cottage, with its deep window seat full of cushions, you will become aware of the owners innate sense of style that blends contemporary and traditional furnishings, to create a welcoming holiday home. The Quantocks are famous for their wildlife and wonderful walks across acres of heath land and broadleaved forests. Nearby Kilve, where the hills meet the sea, has a busy 17th century Coaching Inn and a well-stocked Post Office and Stores.

	The beach here is mostly shingle and steeply sloping, backed by the coastal path and a large, soft, short-grassed area perfect for sunbathing. Stogursey is about two miles away and is a larger village with a wider range of facilities. Nearby Exmoor is a wonderful place to explore, rich in heritage and treasures that include the ancient Tarr Steps, Dunster Castle and the mediaeval landscape of Badgworthy, which inspired the novel Lorna Doone; it should not be missed. Along the coast is Minehead with seaside attractions, golf, shops and restaurants; also within a short drive is the enchanting fishing village of Watchet and the award-winning beach at Blue Anchor Bay. This cottage is so lovely, and there is so much to enjoy in this wonderful area, that one visit may not be enough. Note: Non-Smokers Only. Friday Changeover.
