Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fabulous views across the Mendip Hills, Crook Peak Cottage and Mendips View are two attractive holiday properties in the extensive grounds of Hamwood Park, the owners’ family home. Surrounded by 40 acres of stunning countryside with fields, woodland and country walks, the properties are ideal for a peaceful holiday in a beautiful rural location. Each property has its own unique qualities and some of the views have been described as "like looking at a picture out of each window". Children can help feed the owners’ chickens and ducks or share a variety of outdoor games equipment. There is storage for bicycles if required and horse riding, stabling and a dog walking service are all available by prior arrangement with the owners. Walking boots or wellies are essential for exploring the surrounding woodland, with nature walks and footpaths leading to Loxton village. There are several excellent country pubs nearby, most of which welcome dogs.

Crook Peak Cottage is a detached property, which is slightly larger than its neighbour, Mendips View. The cottage has views of Crook Peak (meaning “pointed hilltop”) which features prominently on the horizon at an impressive 628 feet high. The property is comfortable and welcoming with wooden features, a traditional woodburner in the lounge and two luxury shower rooms. The stylish, cherrywood kitchen overlooks the rear garden with patio area and pretty tiered rockery. There are neighbouring fields and open farmland to the rear of Crook Peak Cottage, a small pond to the side and a barn to the front. As it is on one level, the property is also suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Nearest Coastline: The beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Sand Bay, Brean and Uphill.

Tourist Attractions: Noah’s Ark Animal Farm, Puxton Park, Tyntesfield Estate and the SS Great Britain. For shopping, Cabot Circus and Clarks Village. Experience stock car racing and mountain biking in The Mendips. Helicopter trips are available at a cost by prior arrangement with the owners. There are golf courses nearby.
