The hamlet of Dean is situated on the south eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Its quiet rural setting and easy access to South Devon's numerous attractions is ideal for either a relaxing break with perhaps some walking, or an active family holiday. The glorious beaches of the South Hams, the lively resorts of Torbay and the bustling city of Plymouth are all within easy reach. Closer to hand is the ancient moorland town of Ashburton, rich in history with many beautiful, intriguing buildings and a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Nearby Buckfast Abbey is famous for its honey and mead and gives a fascinating insight into monastic life.

	Children will love the hands-on animal experience at Pennywell Farm and Wildlife Centre and Woodlands Leisure Park, near Dartmouth, is great fun for all the family. Just a few miles from the cottage is The River Dart Country Park with lots of watery thrills and spills. Churston Cottage was built 500 years ago and retains an abundance of character and charm. The kitchen has a fabulous red Aga as well as a combi microwave/oven/grill, the lounge features a woodburner set in the old stone built fireplace and the charming bathroom, in Victorian style, has a lovely roll top bath. The bedrooms are bright, colourful and inviting. To the side of the cottage is parking for one car and to the rear there is a pretty patio area with a barbecue and small water feature.
