Berry Pomeroy is a small hamlet, surrounded by land belonging to the Duke of Somerset in the beautiful South Hams. Berry Pomeroy is famous for it's castle, built in the 15th century, by the Pomeroy family; the ruins are reputed to be among the most haunted in Britain! Chestnut Barn is one of a number of luxury barn conversions on the edge of the hamlet. Inside, the barn has an unusual design; to the ground floor is on two levels with four steps leading from the stylish lounge to the bright, contemporary kitchen/diner, which has French doors leading to a shared courtyard. To the rear of the property there is an enclosed patio area with table and chairs and a barbecue; there is also access to two acres of communal grounds. Chestnut Barn has a traditional ambience with thick walls, low-level windows and wooden beams. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and a dressing room and there is under floor heating throughout.

The ancient market town of Totnes is less than two miles away; the busy, narrow streets are full of architectural and historic interest and small individual shops selling almost anything! There are attractions of all kinds to keep you occupied, regardless of the weather: castles, museums, historic houses, steam railways and, of course, the beautiful River Dart. There are a number of lovely beaches within easy reach including, Bantham and Bigbury not to mention the more traditional seaside entertainment at Paignton and Torquay. For a family day out why not try Woodlands Adventure Park, Paignton Zoo or perhaps Sharpham Vineyard and Cheese Dairy for a real taste of the West Country!
