The beautiful creekside villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers lie on either side of the Yealm estuary. Sheltered by high,oak-wooded hillsides and dotted with waterside cottages, this picturesque setting has excellent walking and two waterside pubs serving locally sourced food and ales. Chequers Haigh is a detached house, built on the hillside, a short stroll from the estuary and pubs (slightly steep walk back home!) Designed over four levels, with wonderful views, the house also has a HEATED OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL, warm enough to enjoy on the coolest of summers days! The spacious kitchen/diner has a children's crafts area, a conservatory style seating area and glass doors onto the patio with steps down to a very small lawn and the gated pool. The lounge has sliding doors to the upper balcony. On the two lower levels are four bedrooms; the pretty bunk room has books and toys, the main bedroom has a wooden platform bed and a beautiful bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk in shower. The double bedroom has a balcony with river views.

Noss Mayo has a tennis court, children's play area, woods to explore and a church with spectacular views from the tower. A four-mile circular walk alongside the River Yealm joins one of the most stunning stretches of the South West Coast Path to Wembury Bay. Mothecombe's sandy beach is two miles away and places of interest nearby include Plymouth's historic Hoe and Barbican, Buckfast Abbey, Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and the magical Garden House at Yelverton.
