Ivybridge, in the beautiful South Hams, enjoys both a wonderful natural setting and centuries of history as a mill town and a staging post on the London Road. There are excellent opportunities for walkers and ramblers with a network of footpaths and access to the Erme Valley Trail, which follows the river past historic mills and farms and the Two Moors Way, which stretches 102 miles across Dartmoor, Exmoor and Devon. The Erme Plym Trail follows green lanes as far as the coast and Plymouth and there are special routes, along quiet country lanes, for cyclists. Ivybridge has a variety of specialist shops, hostelries and cafés and a popular leisure centre with heated indoor and outdoor pools.
