This charming, 17th century, thatched cottage is set in the heart of the picturesque village of Stokeinteignhead. The setting is rural and peaceful yet less than two miles to the coast and a short drive to the resorts of Teignmouth, Torquay, Brixham and Paignton. The village has a popular pub, The Church House Inn serving lunches and an extensive evening menu. Carlton Cottage is a cosy, comfortable cottage, traditionally furnished and full of character. The cottage is a short stroll to the shop/post office, pub and restaurant and benefits from off road parking and a small courtyard, with table and chairs, to the rear of the cottage.For those who enjoy walking, horse riding, bird watching or water sports the location is hard to beat. The beautiful Teign estuary is within two miles and attracts an amazing diversity of wildlife, as well as providing the opportunity to sail, enjoy a leisurely boat trip or experience windsurfing. The stunning moorland and wooded valleys of Dartmoor National Park, covering 369 square miles, is within easy reach. There are many lovely villages and hamlets to explore including the picturesque riverbank village of Shaldon where you can catch the foot ferry to Teignmouth, which has a great choice of cafes, shops and pubs and a popular sandy beach.
