Camomile is a
detached stone cottage, ideal for couples or small families looking for a
tranquil location with plenty of things to see and do nearby. The cottage is
situated in the grounds of the owner's house, overlooking attractive, large,
shared gardens and also includes a Bluebell wood and stream, which you are
welcome to explore. There is a private, covered patio, where it is wonderful
to sit, day or evening and enjoy the fragrance of the array of plants and
flowers, or listen to the abundant wildlife that frequents this idyllic
spot. Inside, there is a cosy lounge, separated from the kitchen by a
breakfast bar. Upstairs, the pretty double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom
and views over the fields. The property is reached by a well-maintained
country track and there is a footpath from the cottage to the small village
of Bere Ferrers (two miles), where you can enjoy a cool drink at the
waterside pub. Even closer is Bere Alston, which has shops, a pub and its
own railway station from where you can take a scenic trip down the valley to
Plymouth. The Tamar Valley has recently been awarded 'World Heritage Status'
for its rich mining heritage and inspirational landscape. Numerous places of
interest close by include the National Trust properties of Buckland Abbey
and Cotehele, the fascinating Morwellham Quay Museum and the beautiful
Garden House. The property has plenty of space for
cars, including a boat and trailer. The stabling of horses and pony trekking
can be arranged.
