This attractive converted barn is situated in the tiny hamlet of Southerton, a few miles from the historic town of Ottery St Mary – famous for its tradition of carrying lighted tar barrels through the streets on Guy Fawkes Night. By-the-Way Cottage is stylishly furnished, bright and roomy, with a woodburner in the lounge for cosy winter evenings. The cottage benefits from two enclosed patios and guests are welcome to relax in the owners’ beautifully kept gardens, where there is also space for children to kick a ball around.

The RSPB reserve at Aylesbeare Common is almost on your doorstep, and with access to the East Devon Way nearby, guests staying at By-the-Way cottage can take advantage of the waymarked cycling and walking trails which link to the stunning Jurassic Coast. This lovely rural retreat will definitely appeal to lovers of the outdoors.
