Briar Cottage is a charming, detached Gamekeeper's cottage dating back to 1850, situated on a country lane on the outskirts of the village of Tregadillet, two miles west of Launceston. Located close to the Devon/Cornwall border, between Bodmin and Dartmoor, this is an ideal base for touring West Devon, the Tamar Valley, and North and South Cornwall. Briar Cottage is brimming with character. Interesting curios, discovered in local antique shops, adorn the walls of the parlour, and the lounge has rich, green leather chairs and sofas and a woodburner. For entertainment there are books, games, a CD/radio/cassette player and Sky television (free channels). The kitchen has a modern Rayburn and microwave with grill and convection oven. Wooden stairs lead up to the pretty bedrooms with beamed ceilings, low windows and rural views. The colourful, terraced garden covers half an acre with steps leading up to various levels, one with a pond, another with picnic table and barbeque and a further decked area with seating. There is a gated orchard and parking across the lane from the cottage.

	A short walk from Briar Cottage is New Mills, which has a family farm centre, with indoor play area and pets corner, (the occasional peacock visits the cottage!) and the stop for the Launceston Steam Railway. This beautiful Cornish line runs 2 1/2 miles through the scenic Kensey Valley to the ancient market town of Launceston. Trains run every 40 minutes, May to September. Launceston has weekly farmers’ markets, a selection of arts and craft shops, tearooms, pubs and traditional, family-run shops. The 'Town Trail' offers an insight into the history and architecture of the town and the Norman Castle that dominates the landscape. For beach lovers the North Cornwall coast is within easy reach including Trebarwith Strand, Crackington Haven and Widemouth. Note: Non-Smokers only. Friday Changeover.
