Boathouse Cottage
This unique, detached cottage
is situated in an enviable location on the banks of the River Yealm.
Those looking for a peaceful retreat will enjoy the tranquillity of
this traditionally furnished holiday home. Boathouse Cottage and
Rose Cottage are situated
within the grounds of the owners’ property, and is reached down a
set of steps from the parking area. A small lawned garden area and
patio, facing the waterfront and adjacent to the boathouse and
slipway (occasionally used by the owners), can be accessed via a
further set of steps. With exquisite views from every room the
outlook is an ever-changing panorama. Guests are welcome to bring a
canoe or kayak (but not a boat on a trailer) to launch from the
slipway.
Wembury is a Special Area of
Conservation and one of the best spots in the UK for marine animals
and plants, due to the rocky environment both above and below the
water. The river is a haven for wildfowl and wading birds and the
Wembury Marine Centre organises events and activities for those
wishing to learn more about this magical part of South Devon.
