Beechwood is a large, semi-detached house, built into the hill at Kingswear, with the most spectacular, panoramic views over the River Dart towards Dartmouth, the Britannia Royal Naval College and upstream towards Dittisham. The ever-changing river scenes can be enjoyed at leisure from the sunny terrace. The property is designed on three floors with the entrance conveniently at road level. On the ground floor are two attractive bedrooms, both with fantastic views and a family bathroom. The upstairs loft rooms also have river views; these are more suited to children due to the sloping ceilings. The open plan living area is a great space for the family to spend time together; light the woodburner, play board games, listen to the radio or a CD, or read from the selection of books.

Patio doors open onto the wonderful terrace with gas barbecue and garden furniture. The kitchen has an in-built water filtration system so refreshing water is always available. The village of Kingswear has a church, school, shops, three pubs and a popular bistro and is the stop for the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway, one of the most picturesque lines in England, all within walking distance of Beechwood. Dartmouth is a 5-minute ferry trip away with foot and car ferries running all year and offers a great choice of pubs, restaurants and shops as well as river cruises and fishing trips.

Attractions nearby include the National Trust properties of Coleton Fishacre and Greenway, Agatha Christie’s former home. The Dart Valley trail is a four and a half mile scenic walk from Kingswear to Greenway and the South West Coastal Path can be joined from Dartmouth with the choice of following the trail westwards, or east towards Brixham and Froward Point. For a fun day out without the car, catch the ferry to Dartmouth then board a bus to Blackpool Sands, a lovely sandy beach with a café and a beach shop that hires boogie boards and wetsuits.
