Somerset's seafaring traditions live on in Watchet - an old-established port and harbour, with a new marina attracting sailors from far and wide. Beach Cottage is ideally situated in Market Street just a few hundred yards from local amenities and shops including a general store, art, crafts and souvenir shops together with a museum illustrating the history of Watchet.

There are several pubs and restaurants to choose from and a popular café with delicatessen which offers an excellent range of local and vegetarian produce. The cottage is bright, spacious and comfortable with the added attraction of a cheery sun lounge and a small patio overlooking the sea. A nautical theme sails through the lounge/diner - there is a ships wheel, a ships bell, a large world map tapestry and pictures depicting dramatic coastal scenes. Sliding glass doors lead onto the patio with far reaching sea views. Downstairs the colourful bedrooms have coordinated soft furnishings and plenty of storage space. For fun family days out local attractions include the National Trust castle in mediaeval Dunster and the West Somerset Steam Railway. Try fossil hunting at Helwell Bay - only half a mile by footpath from the village. The sandy beaches of Blue Anchor Bay, Minehead and Dunster are all a short drive away. Locally you can choose to fish, play golf or within a short drive enjoy scenic walks or horse riding in the beautiful Quantock Hills or Exmoor National Park.
