In a lovely rural setting, quiet and secluded, Barn End is a semi-detached barn conversion, surrounded by an orchard and fields. Children are made very welcome at this cottage; there is plenty of room to run and play and, in the front paddock, there is a tree house and trampoline. Inside the cottage, there is a Shaker-style kitchen, warmed by an Aga cooker, with pastel walls and pine furniture. The lounge has exposed beams and a woodburner set in a stone built fireplace. The furnishings are an attractive blend of traditional and contemporary style, creating a cosy and relaxing room. The bedrooms have pastel painted walls and are furnished in a light, bright style with various interesting features. High Bickington is an excellent location for outdoor sports; there is a golf course within a quarter of a mile and salmon and trout fishing can be arranged on the River Taw. Within easy reach are many visitor attractions: Dartington Crystal factory and shop, Quince Honey Farm, The Big Sheep, award winning beaches and the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor. The coastal village of Instow, about half an hour's drive away, is on the Tarka Cycle Trail and you can hire bikes, trailers and seats for youngsters to follow the traffic free scenic route.
