Ash Cottage is a charming, detached property in Longdown,
a delightful rural village on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park with
breathtaking scenery, fabulous beaches and numerous tourist attractions
nearby. Ash Cottage is bright, welcoming and very comfortable, especially
the plush leather sofas. The cottage is also suitable for guests with
limited mobility. On a clear day, the countryside views from the cottage
across neighbouring fields towards Exeter and beyond are truly magnificent.
At dusk, watch the sun setting on the horizon from the sheltered, private
patio. Birds and wildlife can often be seen in neighbouring fields,
especially deer and birds of prey. For special occasions, chocolates,
flowers or sparkling wine can be provided at a cost by prior arrangement
with the owners. Longdown has a friendly, thriving community with regular
activities and social events at the local village hall which guests are
welcome to enjoy. The Lamb Inn nearby offers excellent home cooked food, a
variety of real ales and a large child-friendly beer garden.
Nearest Coastline: The beaches at Exmouth, Dawlish
Warren and Teignmouth. Tourist Attractions: National Trust properties
including Castle Drogo and Killerton House. Hiking, climbing, fishing,
cycling, walking and horse riding on Dartmoor. Crealy Adventure Park,
Canonteign Falls and the Miniature Pony Centre. The cathedral city of Exeter
with a wide range of shops, restaurants and lively nightlife. Excellent golf
courses at Teign Valley and Fingle Glen.
