Art Lover’s Cottage is a charming, terraced cottage situated on the sea front at Penzance with wonderful panoramic views of Mounts Bay from St Michaels Mount across to Penlee Point and Newlyn Harbour. Dating back to 1826 this former Sea Captain’s cottage has recently been updated and now boasts a spacious kitchen with utility area, a bright, appealing lounge/diner and a shower room and bathroom. The cottage has a Mediterranean garden planted with shrubs and coastal plants and a small patio, with table and chairs, from which to enjoy the sea views. There is a small rear courtyard with a storeroom for bikes and surfboards and access to the back lane, ideal for unloading the car. There is one allotted space at a secure car park, a short stroll away and parking is available on the promenade. Furnished in a modern arts and crafts style the cottage features period pieces and interesting artwork, including a studio art easel once belonging to famous Newlyn artist Thomas Cooper Gotch. Paints and brushes are available and there are numerous art and sculpture books to inspire you!. The attractive lounge has a CD, HiFi system and sea views from the bay windows as does the master bedroom which features solid oak furniture, a TV and DVD player. A lovely feature of the twin bedroom is the ornamental copper fireplace and in the small bunkroom the children will enjoy the Treasure Chest CD Boombox! Penzance has an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, children’s play areas and beaches, also the Art Deco Jubilee outdoor swimming pool and subtropical Morrab Gardens. ‘Must sees’ include St Michael's Mount, the spectacular cliff-top Minack Theatre, Sennen Cove, popular with surfers, St Ives with its picturesque harbour and Tate Gallery and beautiful Lands End is only ten miles. The South West coastal path is a great way to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery.
